Commemoration of the independence of Suriname
The 40th commemoration of the independence of Suriname was celebrated on November 25th, 2015 in Paramaribo.
For the events held at the Independence Square in the presence of the President of the Republic and the highest authorities of the State Suriname, besides the official delegation led by General Dupont, Senior Commander of the Armed Forces in French Guiana (FAG COMSUP), participated in the parade a detachment of commandos research and action in jungle (CRAJ) RIMa 9th, a group of pioneers of the 3rd REI and crew of the patrol boat P400 "The Gracious."
On this occasion, in fact, two French ships of the Navy, "the Gracious" and gendarmerie "the Organabo" called at Paramaribo. The French participation which has been taking place now for some years, is part of the military and security relations between France and Suriname particularly given the presence of the two countries on the Guiana Shield.
