Rencontres Africa 2017 from 2 to 6 October 2017
Following the success of Rencontres Africa 2016 in Paris, the second edition will be held on the African continent this year. The event will then take place every year alternating between France and Africa.
Nearly 1,500 French and African businesses are expected in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), Tunis (Tunisia) and Nairobi (Kenya) for the conference and workshops that will focus on sustainable cities, agriculture, agri-business, energies, digital technology, innovative financing mechanisms, training and entrepreneurship.
Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, will inaugurate the event alongside Côte d’Ivoire’s Vice President Daniel Kablan Duncan in Abidjan on 2 October. Prime Minister Edouard Philippe will attend the meetings in Tunisia alongside Youseef Chahed, Tunisia’s Head of Government.
Instigated under the high patronage of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Economy, Rencontres Africa 2017 will be co-led by AfricaFrance and has received support from many stakeholders including Business France, Bpifrance, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), French foreign trade advisers (CCEF), the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of France, CCI France International, French Council of Investors in Africa (CIAN), Société Générale, HEC School of Management and the Institut Français.
