French participation in the trade fair Paramaribo 2015 (Jaarbeurs)
The annual trade fair in Paramaribo, Jaarbeurs, took place from November 26 to December 2nd 2015. France was represented by a stand set up by the Embassy in Paramaribo, the French Development Agency and the Chamber of Commerce and industry of Guyana (CCIG) with exhibitions and sales of some French products. French companies from French Guyana were present: Privileges (perfumes), NBC (consulting firm), Solam (dairy company Macouria), Guyana Delights (specials foods), K-Vins (wine in can) ... The French Alliance of Paramaribo was also present. The Ambassador of France visited the stand several times.
This year the French booth put forward the theme of COP 21 and sustainable development with documentation on the fight against climate change, clips projected on the COP 21 and French institutions and actions on sustainable development and environmental presentations.
For the opening of the fair, the President of the CCIG (Chamber of Commerce and Industry in French Guyana) , M. Richard Gabriel, elected earlier this year conducted for the first time as such a trip to Suriname with a delegation of elected representatives from the chamber and businessmen.
The French participation becomes steady in recent years at this event which always meets a great success to help promote economic and human exchanges between France and Suriname, neighboring countries on the Guiana Shield.
