COP 21 : conference/debate in Paramaribo (9 november 2015
The Delegation of the European Union with the embassies of France and the Netherlands held on November 9th in Paramaribo an evening debate on climate change and on the Paris Conference, COP 21 which will take place from November 30th to December 11th 2015. In addition to the ambassador of the European Union who recalled the commitments made by the EU to fight climate change and its effects, government officials, representative of the University and NGOs engaged in the issue of climate change could expose their positions and exchange with participants at the meeting. The Ambassador of France, Michel Prom, as representative of the incoming Presidency of COP 21, drew a picture of the preparation and of the main challenges of the COP 21. The exhibition “60 solutions against climate change” supported by the Agence Française de Développement illustrated the theme of this evening. This event which attracted a large and motivated audience contributed to the mobilization of all to the Paris Conference and the fight against climate change.
